Alex Snow - Phoenix Tools Southwest Premier Rd.1
After a long winter of riding, training and testing it was finally time to get them feet wet and see if all the pre season work had paid off.
With the switch from Honda to the all new Husqvarna 350fc, Phoenix Tools Ifly rider Alex Snow made a positive start to his 2015 season with the fastest time in timed qualifying ahead of the days three races.
In Moto one Snow launched out of the gate to take the holeshot. From there Snow stretched out an early advantage riding smooth at the front. Although having troubles with extremely heavy lapped traffic for majority of the race Alex held on for the win.
Race two saw Snow a little eager on the start as he hit the gate. As he chased the pack down in to turn right at the back, Snowy put his head down and soon pulled up the order. At the half way point he was sat if forth place, just bike lengths behind 2nd and 3rd, but as he made his move in one of the tight hairpin corners his bike came to a halt in a cloud of smoke. The result of a broken engine gasket causing the bike to loose it's oil.
Race three saw Snow with a good start in 4th place, he soon moved in to second then set off after the leader Shane Carless. In lap 4 Snow took the lead and looked comfortable at the front. But with a charging team mate in Alfie Smith close behind, Snow got tangled up with several lapped riders 3 laps from the end leaving room for Smith to go through. Snow would end the race 2nd and 4th overall after his second race DNF.
With round one of the Maxxis British Championship at Hilton Park this coming Sunday, Alex and the team will head up to Fatcat Motopark for some mid week sand preparation.
